Our Inaugural Birth & Beyond Community Celebration will bring together community leaders, healthcare professionals, philanthropists, and advocates to raise awareness of maternal health disparities, celebrate improved birth outcomes, and promote equitable maternal and infant care.
Guests will have the opportunity to connect and network before a short program highlighting the impact of CHSofNJ’s Community Doula Program. The event will feature stories from families served, local maternal health data, remarks from healthcare and public health leaders, and the presentation of the Birth & Beyond Champion Award to Congresswoman Bonnie Watson Coleman and the Birth & Beyond Community Partnership Award, honoring Capital Health for its valued partnership and leadership in advancing maternal and infant health. In addition, Assemblywoman Verlina Reynolds Jackson, Senator Shirley Turner, and the New Jersey Maternal and Infant Health Innovation Authority (NJMIHIA) will be jointly recognized with our Birth & Beyond Collective Impact Award for their collaborative leadership and commitment to advancing maternal and infant health across New Jersey.
