This comprehensive, two-part training program prepares college faculty, administrators, program leaders, and faculty to support implementation and sustain the Business & Industry Leadership Team (BILT) model, a structured approach to employer active co-leadership in curriculum development and continuous program improvement. Each part of this training is estimated to take 3.5 hours with a short break at the halfway mark.
Part 1: Preparing to Implement BILT introduces the BILT model and provides hands-on practice in orienting industry members and others, recruiting subject matter experts, preparing for KSA analysis meetings, and developing preliminary KSA lists for both existing and new academic programs using the AI-powered BILT Bot.
Part 2: Conducting and Sustaining BILT provides hands-on experience facilitating KSA meetings and employer voting, cross-referencing prioritized KSAs with curriculum, conducting Feedback Meetings, leading future-focused Trends Meetings, and planning the ongoing annual BILT cycle.
Both sessions emphasize active learning through demonstrations, guided exercises, role-playing, and mock meetings. Participants will practice the actual tasks required to establish, operate, and sustain effective BILT partnerships.
Completion of both workshops, including participation in the hands-on exercises, provides a comprehensive practical foundation for implementing the BILT model and using employer expertise to strengthen academic programs and prepare graduates for evolving workforce needs.
A participant will receive a BILT Practitioner Certificate upon completing BILT Parts 1 and 2.
