Do you love throwing on the wheel but get frustrated with the same old results?Joey will teach a class focused on improving your skills and techniques for working with clay. We will assess your current skill level and then work on improvement in the following areas:
• Hand, body, and finger positioning
• Using all the clay
• Establishing thickness and shaping
• Developing the form of the pot
• Using throwing tools
• Evaluating the aesthetic qualities of the form
While refining your throwing techniques, we will also explore altering and darting our thrown shapes. This class will focus more on developing your skills and pushing the limits of the clay than simply making pots to take home.
(To get the most benefit from this class, you should be able to center the clay and pull a cylinder of at least 1-1/2 to 2 lbs.)
