India is celebrated worldwide as a conservation success story, with increasing populations of iconic wildlife such as tigers, leopards, and elephants. Yet, as wildlife habitats overlap more closely with human settlements, communities living alongside these species face growing challenges that are often overlooked.
Join us for an engaging webinar that explores the realities of human–wildlife conflict through the lenses of ecology, conservation filmmaking, field research, and international wildlife policy. Meet the Speakers
Veer Supunya Devavrata
Founder, Wild Origins India
Award-winning conservation filmmaker and policy researcher, Veer works at the intersection of wildlife conservation, community engagement, and environmental storytelling. His work focuses on documenting human–wildlife conflict across India while contributing to international conservation policy through IWMC, CITES, and IUCN. He currently co-leads the Leopard Shepherd initiative, promoting community-led leopard conservation in the Delhi NCR Aravalli landscape.
Yatin Verma
Wildlife Storyteller & Researcher
Yatin Verma documents the wildlife and natural history of Delhi NCR through films, publications, and conservation research. He has contributed to wildlife films for Mongabay, Roundglass Sustain, and other platforms, while actively participating in leopard rescue operations and scientific studies with BNHS. As co-founder of Leopard Shepherd, he combines science, storytelling, and community engagement to promote human–leopard coexistence.
