Have you always wanted to get your hands dirty in clay? Thought it looked like fun to create a pot on the spinning wheel?
This class aims to give adults an introduction to the potter's wheel and time to develop the skills required to "throw a pot."
The focus of this class is to master the basic techniques of centering and pulling basic forms...some of your pots will be cut open to examine the results of your technique! This is an essential step in learning to throw to develop a true "feel" for centering and proper form. Students will begin pulling pots in basic forms and may advance to other shapes as their throwing abilities improve.
Class size is limited to allow individualized attention and to accommodate varying skill levels. Beginner Wheel class includes 1 additional hour each week to come to the studio to trim pots as needed.
