Be Experimental is a dynamic, interactive concert and vocal workshop, led by Bristol’s very own Experimental-Pop Artist, and Authorised CVT Vocal Coach BexX.
It is for anyone curious about exploring the full potential of their voice and learning to freely express lyrically and musically to an ever evolving and immersive trip-hop, electro and ambient cinematic soundtrack.
This isn’t about hitting the “right” notes, it’s about connecting with your voice as an instrument of authenticity, freedom, and creativity.
Beginners, seasoned singers, and curious creatives are all welcome. No experience needed, just the desire to play, explore, and experiment.
What’s involved:
-Sample your voice live on loop stations and mix it with analogue and modular synths, samplers and effects.
-Play with your sound using technology: your voice shapes effects, textures, and ambient soundscapes in real time
-It’s a space to shake off rigidity, explore new angles, and discover fresh ways to approach your voice, helping you see, hear, and feel your singing differently.
-We record so you can listen back, write the song and turn them into full tracks later, or continue to explore, remix, and develop your ideas
Thursdays & Fridays: Two Ways to Be Experimental
Thursdays are all about learning and skill-building. Try new vocal and songwriting techniques, experiment with improvisation, deepen your understanding of interpretation and meaning behind your singing, develop your own style and explore solo performance in a supportive, non-judgmental environment. It’s reflective, playful, and perfect for cultivating curiosity, presence, and personal expression.
Fridays are all about doing and exploring in a concert style experience. The energy ramps up! This sandbox-style session is free from teaching, technique, or lectures. It’s structured to give you the freedom to discover and unleash new parts of your singing you didn’t even know you had.Reviewers say: “It’s like ‘Stars In Their Eyes’ but they’re being themselves!” The perfect Friday night pre-night out warmup to get you excited for the weekend.
