Be a Senior Chorister for a Day | Thursday 12 November 2026Is your child in Year 7 or 8 and does he or she love to sing? Come and experience life as a Senior Chorister at Truro School and Truro Cathedral.
Our Be a Senior Chorister for a Day event is open to all boys and girls in Years 7 and 8. It’s a chance to discover what life is like as a Truro School pupil and experience the exciting musical opportunities of singing with Truro Cathedral Choir.
Throughout the day, pupils will take part in rehearsals, attend normal lessons, enjoy a tour of Truro Cathedral and rehearse with James Anderson-Besant, Director of Music. They’ll also join the current Senior Choristers and professional adult singers for rehearsals ahead of Evensong at 5.30pm with Truro Cathedral Choir.
It’s a wonderful opportunity to develop musical skills, meet other aspiring choristers and experience the unique rewards of singing as part of the Cathedral Choir.
The Senior Chorister programme is for girls and boys aged 13–18 (Year 9 entry) and pupils receive a 15% scholarship on Truro School fees, making this a great opportunity for pupils considering applying for a Choristership in the future.
