Poland Is Hostile to InnovationIs Poland creating the conditions in which innovation can thrive, or are regulation, bureaucracy, access to capital and institutional barriers holding it back?
On 24 October 2026, the British Alumni Society invites you to the second event in its 2026 Oxford Debate series at Centrum Prasowe Foksal in Warsaw.
Six speakers, divided into teams of three, will debate the motion:
“Poland Is Hostile to Innovation.”
Following the Oxford debate format, the Proposition and Opposition will defend opposing sides of the motion, challenge one another’s arguments and respond to questions from the audience.
The debate will be conducted in English and moderated by Jan M. Karolczak, President of the British Alumni Society.
This is the second of three Oxford Debates organised by the British Alumni Society at Centrum Prasowe Foksal in 2026. The series brings together leaders from business, academia, public life and the wider alumni community to discuss some of the most important questions facing Poland today.
The debate will be followed by an opportunity to continue the conversation and network with speakers, BAS members and guests. Light refreshments will be provided.
