BALBOA WORKSHOP - Saturday, October 3rd5-8pm at the Dance Factory, Westshore Plaza, Tampa
We're highlighting Balboa this month at the Dance Factory, with a 3-hour workshop taught by Andrea Phoenix, followed by social swing dancing 8-11pm where all styles of swing dancing will be on display!
SCHEDULE (Breaks and practice time will be provided at the end of each class)
4:45pm - Doors Open / Registration
5:00pm - Pure Balboa Fundamentals & Connection
6:00pm - Balboa Tossouts & Swing Kicks & Variations
7:00pm - The Ins & Outs of Balboa
8:00pm - Dance to 11pm
The workshop is for beginning to intermediate-level Balboa dancers and consists of three classes with breaks in between. Just $33 gets you into the workshop plus the dance! If you're coming for the dance only, it's $12.
BALBOA is a fun, exciting yet relaxed, dancer's dance, with footwork, leading-following, and patterns that range from simple to intricate. The basics are easy to learn, yet the dance has enough depth and complexity so that dancers can progress and enjoy years of entertainment. Learn the swing dance that's taking Tampa Bay by storm, the Balboa!
MEET THE INSTRUCTOR: Andrea Phoenix has been dancing Balboa more than half her life. She's traveled to countless Balboa events across the country, and has dedicated time to learning both the lead and follow parts and refining her dancing and teaching skills. She's competed across the country in Balboa and has placed at All Balboa Weekend and California Balboa Classic, two of the biggest Balboa events in the world. She looks forward to bringing the "dancer's dance" to you here at home in Tampa Bay.
