Gardenstar was developed as an online, qualitative self-assessment tool that enables householders to evaluate and improve biodiversity-supporting features in private gardens. The Green lab will be joined by Prof. Yolanda van Heezik and PhD student Jacqueline Theis from Otago University who have developed ‘Garden Star’, a tool for assessing the biodiversity value of private gardens, with a focus on native biodiversity.
This is an informative and interactive workshop where you can come do an assessment of your backyard biodiversity and how to increase it.
The normal cost for this event would be $80, but thanks to the CCC Sustainability fund this event is FREE.
We will print off an aerial image of your back yard and show you how to use basic landscape design concepts and the garden star to do an assignment of your back yard and how to increase native biodiversity.
As we require an aerial image of your yard, please fill in the google form below with your address. No addresses will be kept after obtaining the image.
Bring your laptop and we hope to see you there.
