About this Event
Join AWAKE Nashville for a free screening of One Bad Break—a moving film about housing, hope, and our aging community.
In partnership with AARP Tennessee, we are proud to present a free community screening of our short film, One Bad Break, written and produced by Kyler Wilson and Natalie Ruffino Wilson.
Starring award-winning actor Cameron Arnett, One Bad Break is a powerful and deeply human story that illustrates how a single, unforeseen hardship can unravel the stability of a senior living on a fixed income. It serves as a reminder of just how fragile housing security can be, especially in a rapidly growing city like Nashville, where too many older adults are one unexpected setback away from losing the place they call home.
This free community screening is more than a movie, it is an opportunity to spark meaningful conversations about aging, affordable housing, and the challenges facing older adults in our community. Following the film, guests are invited to stay for a panel discussion featuring community leaders and senior advocates, along with an opportunity to learn more about the work being done to create a community where seniors can age with dignity, stability, and purpose.
Whether you're a community member, caregiver, advocate, policymaker, or simply someone who believes everyone deserves a safe place to call home, we invite you to join us for an evening of storytelling, connection, and inspiration. Admission is free, refeshments will be available and all are welcome. We will also have a special prize drawing that you will not want to miss at the end of the event.
