Come along for a 2.5 hour sensory immersion through the practice of forest bathing in the beautiful Croxteth Park
About this Event

October is a month for the senses. Trees begin to turn colour, their leaves rustle on the branches, fungi appear in the woods & there are smells of damp moss and ferns aplenty.

You are invited to slow down and immerse yourself in the peace of nature at this beautiful time of year.

You will be taken on a slow, gentle walk through the woods and supported in immersing yourself in the natural world around you, through reconnection to your senses, based on the practice of forest bathing.

Forest bathing or ‘shinrin-yoku’ as it is known as in Japan, is a wellbeing and nature connection practice. It simply means taking in nature using all of your senses. It does not involve any swimming and or hugging trees (unless you want to hug a tree, of course). Forest bathing encourages you to slow down, quieten the mind and relax through immersing yourself in nature.

At times we will gather in a group to share our experience, however this is optional so there is no pressure to participate in this element if you do not wish to.

Research shows that Forest Bathing has many benefits including helping to reduce stress, reduce blood pressure, improve sleep quality, concentration and stimulate creative thinking.

Who is this suitable for?

No experience is necessary, everyone aged 18+ is welcome and children aged 16+ if they are accompanied by a responsible adult. Unfortunately dogs are not allowed, unless they are an assistance dog. If you have any mobility or accessibility needs please contact me as we do go off the main paths and the ground can be uneven.

Clothing:

Please dress appropriately for the weather and time of year! 2-3 warm layers of clothing are recommended, along with waterproofs if it forecasts rain. Walking boots/sturdy shoes are also recommended as it can be muddy and wet underfoot.

Parking & Facilities:

There are public toilet facilities near the Croxteth Hall part of the site, please follow the signs to the cafe area. The toilets are open 10am-4pm daily.

There are free car parking spaces within the Croxteth Hall and Park site. A number of disabled parking bays are available at Croxteth Hall, if using these bays, it is asked that you please display a Blue Badge when parking. To access these parking bays, please use the traditional service entrance via Flint Drive off Croxteth Hall Lane which provides the best access to these facilities. Please use postcode L12 0HB as your Sat Nav reference for this parking.

For further details on how to get there and parking please visit: https://www.croxteth-hall.co.uk/plan-your-visit/
