For the second weekend of the Autumn Chef Series, Guy Owen welcomes Matthew Mawtus, Director of Food & Beverage at HIDE in Mayfair and one of London’s most respected sommeliers, for an intimate, wine‑led dining experience at The Reef Knot Restaurant.Rooted in friendship and shared history, this one‑night collaboration brings a slice of HIDE’s refined, modern hospitality to St Mawes. Matt and Guy lived and worked together in London between 2007 and 2009, and the evening is shaped around the vintages that defined that formative time — expressive wines with character, clarity and a strong sense of place, paired with a menu crafted to complement their stories.
Guests will begin with a welcome cocktail created by the HIDE team, served alongside coastal canapés from Guy’s kitchen, before settling into a five‑course menu designed around classic grapes and regions that showcase the chosen vintages.
