Torma Making WorkshopSaturday 7th November
10am-4pm
Please note: This event must be booked in ADVANCE via the link below.
Ganden Ling KMC is delighted to welcome Andy Kemp to our centre for a workshop on the traditional Buddhist art of torma making.
This is a rare opportunity to learn about and gain experience in making tormas which is a beautiful skill to hold and a valuable one in maintaining the tradition and the vision of Venerable Geshe-la, our kind Founder, to make the Dharma flourish in our world.
Join us as qualified torma maker, Andy, who also teaches branch classes for KMC Bristol, explains various types of tormas and how to make them in a qualified manner according to the New Kadampa lineage. The workshop will be practical and a lot of fun.
What is a Torma & Where Can I Read More About Them?
“A special food offering made according to either Sutra or Tantra rituals. See Essence of Vajrayana and The New Guide to Dakini Land.”
Tormas are traditional food offerings (usually made of marzipan or fondant) that are offered to the Buddhas in various ritual practices and prayers such as empowerments, retreats and prayers. Representing an offering of great bliss, tormas can range from very simple to exquisitely beautiful.
