Steve Grimwade from ‘Swallow Birding & Wildlife’ will take us on a journey to the Isles of Scilly which is a Mecca for birds and birders in the autumn. Situated 28 miles off the Cornish coast, these sub-tropical islands have attracted many rarities and scarcities and are one of the most beautiful places in the UK.Indoor meetings are held at the Quaker Meeting House*, 82 Rainsford Road, Chelmsford CM1 2QL. Entrance costs £3.00 for members and £4.00 for non-members (no concessions). A cup of tea/coffee and a biscuit are available during the interval for just £1, but please bring your own mug to save the washing up. There is limited parking on site for blue badge holders and the speaker. The parking meters in the area are currently free to use after 18.30 in the evenings. The nearest public car park is Fairfield Road, which is accessed via Coval Lane, just a three-minute walk from the Quaker Meeting House.
