About the Show
Elwood P. Dowd is unfailingly kind, wonderfully pleasant—and rarely seen without his best friend, Harvey, a six-foot-plus invisible rabbit. When Elwood’s increasingly exasperated sister, Veta, decides his unusual friendship has gone too far, her attempt to have him committed turns into a hilarious comedy of mistaken identities, misplaced assumptions, and unexpected revelations.
Beneath its humor, Harvey asks something wonderfully simple: What if kindness, acceptance, and seeing the world a little differently are not weaknesses at all?
Filled with memorable characters, quick comedy, heart, and just enough delightful absurdity, Harvey offers actors the opportunity to bring one of American theatre’s most enduring comedies to life.
Come audition.
