DESCRIPTION:
Summary
The longest running off-Broadway revue in history has been revised for the 21st century! This celebration of the mating game takes on the truths and myths behind that contemporary conundrum known as “the relationship.” Through sketches and songs, Act I explores the journey from dating and waiting to love and marriage, while Act II reveals the agonies and triumphs of in-laws and newborns, trips in the family car and pick-up techniques of the geriatric set. This hilarious revue pays tribute to those who have loved and lost, to those who have fallen on their face at the portal of romance, to those who have dared to ask, “Say, what are you doing Saturday night?” The 2018 version features two new songs, revised lyrics and dialogue throughout the show to reflect dating in modern times.

Instructions: Please prepare 32 bars of a song in the style of the show. Accompaniment will be provided, so please bring sheet music in the correct key for your audition.Please do not perform a song directly from the show.
We are looking for versatile performers who can fully inhabit a variety of characters and bring strong acting choices, comedic instincts, vocal ability, and musicality to the production. We strongly recommend choosing a song that showcases your acting ability as well as your vocal ability and musicality. Give the audition team a strong sense of your personality and performance style.
Callbacks are scheduled for October 18th from 12-4pm. Any sides or songs required for callbacks will be provided in advance. Actors invited to callbacks will receive the necessary materials and instructions ahead of time.
Because this production relies heavily on character work, physicality, comedic timing, and the ability to quickly transition between very different characters, callbacks may include scene work, musical material, or character exploration.
Video auditions accepted at [email protected] in lieu of auditions. Video auditions must be submitted by October 12th at 6:30pm.
Participants of all races, ethnicities, national origins, sexual orientations, gender expressions, and abilities are encouraged to submit.
