DESCRIPTION:
One relationship. Infinite possibilities.
Nick Payne’s Olivier Award-winning Constellations follows Marianne, a quantum physicist, and
Roland, a beekeeper, through a relationship that unfolds across an infinite number of possible
realities.
Their first meeting might lead to love. Another version might lead somewhere else. A different
choice, a different word, a different moment can alter everything.
Set against the possibilities of the multiverse, Constellations moves fluidly between alternate
versions of the same moments—sometimes funny, sometimes awkward and sometimes tender.
At its heart, it is about love, free will, friendship, mortality, and the strange possibility that every
moment matters.

COMPENSATION:
All roles are volunteer. No stipend provided for 2nd Stage Series productions.
ROLES

MARIANNE — Any age, (approximately Mid 20s– mid 60s)
A brilliant quantum physicist. Curious, intellectually restless, funny, direct, and sometimes
emotionally guarded and socially unconventional.
ROLAND — Any age, (approximately mid 20s– mid 60s)
A beekeeper. Grounded, warm, observant, and emotionally open. Interested in the tangible
world. Has his own quiet curiosity and intelligence.

Sides will be provided at auditions. No preparation or memorization is required.
Plan to arrive and start at 12.
CALLBACKS:
Callbacks are scheduled for Friday, October 16, 2026, from 6:30–9:30 PM. Actors invited to
callbacks will receive additional instructions.
Video auditions are accepted at [email protected] in lieu of an in-person
audition. Video auditions must be submitted by 12:00 PM on October 10, 2026 to be
considered.
Participants of all races, ethnicities, national origins, sexual orientations, gender expressions,
and abilities are encouraged to submit.
