Join us for a resolana and focus group conversation with the neighbors and neighborhood associations of Atrisco as we come together to share ideas, concepts, and knowledge that can inform the design of an Atrisco Memorial planned by Bernalillo County.Bernalillo County Open Space is planning an Atrisco Memorial—a physical space dedicated to the heritage of the Atrisco land grant and to the people who call the South Valley home. The Center for Social Sustainable Systems (CESOSS) has been tasked to convene the local community and to ensure that its voice and ideas are heard and influence the memorial's design. Nothing has been designed yet. We want Atrisco's communities to speak first.
This Atrisco Land Heirs & Community Organizations Forum is the third of four taking place this fall season. Anyone is welcome to any of the four forums (Oct. 8, 21, 28, and Nov. 4--visit cesoss.org/events for full details). However, the focus of this third community forum is on the Atrisco heirs as well as community organizations of Atrisco as very important holders of community history and knowledge.
Please register so we can order enough snacks and refreshments. Registration is not required. You are welcome whether or not you sign up, and you are welcome to bring someone. CESOSS is proudly working alongside Anthropopulus Design + Planning and Working Classroom.
Please note that this public event will be recorded for educational purposes. Options to remain anonymous or to decline being filmed will be offered at the start of the event.
