ATL Ram Dass Meet Up

As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, we have so much to be grateful for! Please join us for a special Ram Dass Meet Up celebrating gratitude, community, and the blessings of being together. This month, we're inviting everyone to bring a favorite Thanksgiving dish to share as we gather in the spirit of love, service, and appreciation for all that life brings us.
Join us on Sunday, November 15th, at 3pm at Spiritual Living Center of Atlanta (SLCA), at the Unitarian Universalist church campus at 2650 N. Druid Hills Road NE, Atlanta, GA 30329.
Please PM me (Jai Ram Lentine) for additional details and to get on our email invitation list.
As always, we will chant and meditate, listen to and discuss a short Ram Dass teaching, and share a meal together. This month, we'll bring a little extra attention to gratitude — not just for the things in life that bring us joy and comfort, but for all of it. The beautiful, the difficult, the unexpected, and the everyday experiences that help awaken our hearts.
Ram Dass reminded us again and again that our spiritual work is to open to life as it is. Gratitude can be a powerful doorway into that practice. When we begin to see our lives through the eyes of appreciation, even our challenges can become opportunities for awakening.
And what better way to practice gratitude than to gather with our satsang family, share food, and celebrate the gift of each other!
A THANKSGIVING POTLUCK!
This month, we'd love for everyone to bring a favorite Thanksgiving dish to share! Whether it's a traditional family recipe, a holiday favorite, or something you simply love to make, we'd be delighted to have it at our table. Sweet, savory, homemade, or store-bought — all offerings are welcome!
Food is nurturing on every level, and sharing a meal together is one of the beautiful ways we practice seva and care for one another.
A REMINDER ABOUT OUR COMMUNITY
This beautiful gathering is truly community-run, and it comes alive through the care, presence, and participation of everyone who attends. Each of us helps hold the space: by bringing food, arriving with intention, volunteering when we can, and supporting the practical needs that make the gathering possible. This month, we especially need your help with setup and cleanup!
Please take a moment to read the notes below so we can plan well and care for the space together:
RSVP: If you are planning to join us, please RSVP to my email invite by Thursday, November 12, so we can plan appropriately. Please also let me know if you are able to volunteer. PM me to get on the email list.
VOLUNTEER — WE REALLY NEED YOUR HELP! We desperately need volunteers for both setup (arrive by approximately 2:00pm) and cleanup (5:30pm–6:30pm), so please let me know if you can help with either or both. Your service is a gift to the entire community; we really can't do this without your joyful participation!
BRING: Please bring your favorite Thanksgiving dish to share (this is so important!!).
ARRIVAL: Please arrive early so you have time to bring your food to the kitchen, grab chai, say hello, and find a seat before we begin.
LOVE OFFERING: Donations will be gratefully accepted by Nandi Dass to help cover expenses. There is no charge to attend, and any contribution is welcome — even $5 helps.
