URMELE ȘI SEMNELE ANIMALELOR SĂLBATICE – CUM LE CITIM ȘI INTERPRETĂMÎn cadrul acestui atelier de o zi și jumătate, vom explora originile trackingului și modul în care putem aplica tehnicile de tracking în prezent. Vom aborda o parte din teoria necesară pentru identificarea și interpretarea urmelor și semnelor, însă o mare parte a atelierului se va desfășura pe teren, unde vom analiza exemple practice de urme și semne – cum să le identificăm și ce ne pot spune despre animalul care le-a lăsat.

Introducere în trackingul animalelor sălbatice. Vom analiza originile trackingului, apoi vom explora întrebările: Ce căutăm? Cum căutăm? Ce ne pot spune urmele și semnele?
14:00 – 15:30
Urme și semne în jurul Centrului Richita. Activitate de grup în aer liber, în jurul centrului, pentru a vedea ce putem găsi fiecare în cadrul unei căutări rapide. Apoi vom analiza fiecare dintre descoperiri și vom vedea dacă putem reconstitui povestea: cine a făcut ce, când și de ce.

Urmele și semnele animalelor sălbatice. Vom explora în detaliu urmele diferitelor animale și modul în care putem identifica și interpreta diferite semne. O parte a acestei sesiuni va fi practică și va include oase, cranii, pene și alte elemente (dacă dorești, poți aduce propriile elemente pentru a le împărtăși cu grupul).

Introducere în programul zilei. Planurile pentru ziua respectivă și eventuale întrebări din prima zi.

Activitate pe teren. Vom petrece întreaga zi pe teren, explorând urmele și semnele pe care le putem găsi în vale. Ne vom concentra atât pe identificarea semnelor, cât și pe interpretarea acestora, astfel încât să putem reconstitui povestea animalului care le-a lăsat în urmă. Programul zilei se va adapta în funcție de urmele și semnele pe care le găsim (și, dacă este necesar, în funcție de vreme) și vom face o pauză pentru prânz.
În funcție de ceea ce găsim și de condițiile meteo, este posibil să încheiem ziua în sala de curs cu o sesiune de întrebări și răspunsuri.

DESPRE INSTRUCTOR
David Wege este un naturalist pasionat, observator de păsări, fotograf de natură, ilustrator și autor. După o lungă carieră în conservarea internațională a biodiversității, David predă în prezent tehnici de tracking în Marea Britanie și în alte țări, urmându-și dorința de a-i încuraja pe ceilalți să își aprofundeze legătura cu natura din jurul nostru.
David este Track and Sign Professional (Cyber-tracker Level 4), a publicat două cărți despre urme – Mammal Tracks of Europe și Bird Tracks – și lucrează în prezent la o a treia. A mai predat tehnici de tracking unor grupuri private din România de două ori.

READING THE STORIES IN WILDLIFE TRACKS AND SIGNS
During this one-and-a-half-day workshop, we will explore the origins of tracking and how we can apply tracking to the present day. We will look at some of the theory of how to identify and interpret tracks and signs, but a large part of the workshop will be in the field, looking at practical examples of tracks and signs – how to identify them and what they are telling us about the animal that left them.

Introduction to wildlife tracking. We will look at the origins of tracking, then explore the questions: What are we looking for? How are we looking? What can the tracks and signs tell us?

Tracks and Signs around Richita Centre. Group activity outside around the centre to see what we can each find in a rapid search. We will then talk through each of the findings and see if we can tell the stories of who did what, when and why.

Wildlife tracks and signs. We will explore some of the detail of different animal tracks and how to identify and interpret different signs. Part of this session will be hands-on with bones, skulls, feathers and other artefacts. Feel free to bring your own artefacts should you wish to share them with the group!

Sunday 1 November

Introduction to the day. Plans for the day and any questions from Day 1.

Field time. We will be spending the whole day in the field, exploring the tracks and signs we can find in the valley. We will focus on how to identify the signs and also how to interpret them so that we can tell the story of the animal that left them behind.
The day will adapt to the tracks and signs we find and, if necessary, the weather. We will also break for lunch. Depending on what we find and the weather, we may end the day in the classroom for a Q&A session.
*The workshop will take place in English.
TRAINER BIO
David Wege is a passionate naturalist, birdwatcher, wildlife photographer, illustrator and author. After a long career in international biodiversity conservation, David now teaches tracking in the UK and beyond, following a path of encouraging others to deepen their connection with all nature around us.
David is a Track and Sign Professional (Cyber-tracker Level 4), has published two track books – Mammal Tracks of Europe and Bird Tracks – and is currently working on a third. He has taught tracking to private groups in Romania twice before.
