Exploring and practicing visual elements has long been my goal with these creative sessions and when I can pair it with poetic or literary elements I am giddy. I wanted to introduce an element that has been around since the 1990’s (some even say the 1970’s) that I had not heard of before. When I found it, it blew my mind. I have done my research and am ready to share what I’ve learned.
In this session we will talk about Asemic writing and how it adds dimension to your visual work, but is also meditative and liberating. It lacks the constraints limited by letters and serves as non-objective rather than literal in meaning. The abstract element of Asemic writing leaves the door open for subjective thought. We will use studio tools to create visual art using asemic elements. This session is for beginners as well as seasoned artists.

About your host:
Leslie Archibald writes poetry, flash fiction, and nonfiction in a tiny home office in Houston, Texas. When she is not writing, you may find her roaming the city photographing Houston’s unique character, dabbling in watercolors, and exploring genre bending and multimedia literature.
