Community Arts Exhibition Returns Bigger Than EverA popular community arts exhibition is set to return to York this Halloween, with organisers promising the biggest and most creative event yet.
The third annual Arts, Craft and Photography Exhibition, organised by Foxwood Residents Association, will take place on Saturday 31 October from 10.30am to 3.00pm at Foxwood Community Centre, Bellhouse Way, York, YO24 3HY.
Featuring more than 60 entries from local artists, photographers, makers and craftspeople, the exhibition will showcase a wide range of creative talent from across the local community. Visitors can expect to see everything from paintings and photography to handcrafted items and unique artistic creations produced by people of all ages and abilities.
Alongside the main exhibition, visitors will also be able to support two special charity displays:
Pink for Margaret - a moving tribute created by the Foxycrafters, raising funds for York Against Cancer.
Silver Crafters - a collection of handcrafted items on sale in aid of St Leonard's Hospice.
Organiser Neil Butterworth said:
"The event last year was a tremendous success, attracting several hundred visitors throughout the day, and we're hoping to build on that success this year."
"The quality and number of entries we've received demonstrate the incredible artistic talent that exists within our local community. It's particularly encouraging to see contributions from people of all ages, from first-time exhibitors to experienced artists and photographers."
"Although the exhibition takes place on Halloween, there's nothing frightening about it. It's a friendly, welcoming event that celebrates creativity, brings people together and highlights the talent we have right here in York."
"We're still able to accommodate a small number of additional exhibits, so anybody interested in displaying their work should get in touch as soon as possible."
Admission to the exhibition is free, and refreshments will be available throughout the day.
The exhibition has become a popular fixture in the local calendar, providing an opportunity for residents to discover talented local artists, purchase handmade items, support local charities and enjoy a relaxed day out in the community.
