The 21 Step Gallery of Rumriver Art Center is excited to announce the opening of a new art exhibition, "Wonder For Our World" by artist Tevka Lackmann. On Saturday, October 3rd, from 2 pm - 4 pm, the 21 Step Gallery will be hosting an opening reception for her exhibition. On Thursday, October 29th, Tevka will be providing an artist talk in the gallery starting at 5:30 pm. All events are open to the public and free to attend.Tevka Lackmann shares the following:
“I graduated from the University of Northern Iowa in 2024 with a Studio Art degree, and have been finding my way as a working artist since. I am a self-proclaimed 'Whimsical Realist' - I use my art as a means to bring vibrancy to the everyday. My work is my chance to depict a brighter reality. I love to use bold brushstrokes and color in unconventional ways...
...A common thread throughout my work is to convey the sense of wonder I feel for this world. To wonder is to admit that we don’t know it all, and to surrender to the uncertainties in life. My creative process is catalyzed by my curiosity. Through my work, I seek to understand myself, and this world.”
The exhibition will open October 3rd and run through November 6th, 2026.
