🎨 What happens when you give yourself permission to think like an artist — and look at colour differently? On 7 November, I’ll be leading a two-hour Art Masterclass at CIE Academy in Curaçao — an afternoon dedicated to creativity, experimentation and seeing things from a different perspective.
We’ll begin with a short introduction to Impressionism and Pointillism — two movements that fundamentally changed the way artists approached colour, light and perception. From the expressive brushwork of the Impressionists to the carefully placed dots of the Pointillists, we’ll explore how artists discovered new ways of creating colour and visual experience.
And then, we’ll put those ideas into practice.
Each participant will receive a sketchbook (dummy) and a selection of materials to experiment with during the masterclass. You don’t need to consider yourself an artist, and you certainly don’t need to be “good at drawing.” What matters is curiosity, openness and a willingness to experiment.
As a multidisciplinary artist, I’m fascinated by the way ideas develop — from a simple observation or question into an image, an object, a story or an entirely new way of looking at the world. I’m very happy to bring some of that creative process into the CIE Academy programme and share approaches that have influenced my own artistic practice.
