Meet the Chef: Victor Maldonado
Victor Maldonado, Executive Chef at La Fonda on Main, grew up in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, where his mother, Rosario, inspired his passion for cooking. After moving to San Antonio at age 17, he became part of the Lawton family, developing his craft and commitment to authentic interior Mexican cuisine. He regularly returns to Mexico to research culinary traditions and source ingredients, bringing his knowledge and passion to every dish.
Celebrating Alberto Mijangos
Born in Mexico City in 1925, Alberto Mijangos arrived in San Antonio in the 1950s and went on to become a celebrated artist, educator, and influential member of the local arts community.
