TONIGHT'S EVENTAnti-Nationalist Day Party
"Graduation", Games, and Social
The finale to the Fall 2026 “Taiwan History Back-To-School” 台灣歷史補課營 Series — New Bloom’s inaugural “make-up class” series on Formosa’s political journey and social progress.
Congratulations! You made it through our #TaiwanHistoryBTS #台灣歷史補課營! Let's mark the occasion back at DAYBREAK 破曉咖啡 with our "Anti-Nationalist Day" party — New Bloom's annually hosted, tongue-in-cheek celebration.
Whether you attended all or some of our inaugural Taiwan history series this fall — or if you missed out completely and want to hear from others about what they learned — join us for a relaxed evening of good drink and conversation. (Especially some hydration for those of you who just spent two hours walking around Taipei with us for our 228 History Walking Tour https://www.facebook.com/events/1540448343986798/)
Most importantly? We'll toast to this incredible little country we call home — to the souls who sacrificed their lives for democracy, indigeneity, and liberation, and to a safe and free Taiwan for future generations to come.
Cover: $200 NTD (includes $100 drink voucher)

ABOUT THIS SERIES
Taiwan. Whether it’s your new home, a home you never knew, or a home you thought you knew, an honest history of Taiwan is something few Taiwanese can claim to understand — let alone Western textbooks and media coverage.
To meet this need, New Bloom launched the “Taiwan History Back-To-School” 台灣歷史補課營 series for the very first time this fall. Our debut series featured 12 events from August 31 to October 17 — a mix of discussion circles, field trips, guest speakers, and casual socials plus a fun “graduation” party.
#TaiwanHistoryBTS by New Bloom 破土雜誌 was created for anyone who needs a new or refresher course on Taiwanese history past to present. We read up on societal turning points, confronted difficult realities, shared complicated conversations, and found our footing with like-minds.
Subscribe to our Substack (https://newbloom.substack.com) for announcements of future continuations!
WHO WE DESIGNED THIS FOR
- Anyone new to Taiwan interested in gaining context for current events, transitional justice, and social discourse.
- Longtime expats who are ready to dip into Taiwan’s real history.
- Taiwanese diaspora interested in relearning history and meeting fellow returnees/tourists. Think of this as “Leftist Love Boat” LOL.
- Taiwanese locals interested in meeting international allies, practicing English, and sharing activism experience. 歡迎各位來跟我們的國際朋友們一起補課分享互動！
- Anyone who loves and cares about Taiwan!
We hope these 12 sessions have been a positive experience for everyone. Learning together to better appreciate the sacrifices of generations past and the stakes for this country’s future — and growing as responsible voices, allies, or champions for Taiwan.
