Anna Franceschini.
About this Event
Anna Franceschini in conversation with Ilaria Gianni, moderated by Giuseppe Armogida on the occasion of the launch of Machines Wear Costumes, the first monographic catalogue dedicated to artist Anna Franceschini.
Spanning works from 2007 to 2025, the publication resists a chronological approach, offering instead an in-depth exploration of the artist’s practice through a specialized lexicon. Organized around six core entries—Animation, Body, Machine, Ghost, Desire, and Window—the book functions as an open "desiring machine," activated anew through each act of looking and reading.
Edited by Attilia Fattori Franchini, Anna Franceschini and Ilaria Gianni. Concept and design by Anna Franceschini and Vela Arbutina.
Published by Lenz Press.
Promoted by Kunstverein Gartenhaus.
This project is supported by the Directorate-General for Contemporary Creativity of the Italian Ministry of Culture under the Italian Council program (2024), the City of Vienna and the Austrian Federal Ministry for Housing, Arts, Culture, Media and Sport.
