About this Event
This class will explore letterpress experimentation with P22 Blox—modular alphabet forms —and the Rotaryevice that allows printing type at any angle o Angle Chase—a dn an otherwise rectilinear press bed. Through an introduction to these tools and various techniques, students will have time to explore and produce prints to take home and exchange with other participants.
Best for: This is ideal for participants with some letterpress experience, but novices are also welcome.
About the Instructor: Richard Kegler
Richard Kegler formed P22 Type Foundry in 1994 and, after starting the Book Arts Center in Buffalo, New York, became the director of the Wells College Book Arts Center in Aurora, NY. Richard has spent his career combining an interest in traditional printing crafts with entrepreneurial initiatives. His current project Dry Inc. in Rochester, NY focuses on pre-digital letterpress printing technologies, typography, and new printing tool development.
