Orchestra, Chorus, and Ballet of the State opera Varna
Through the tragic fate of the heroine, the opera raises questions about the impossible connection between the vast world of natural elements and the human world—a divide born of technological progress, alienation from nature, and the consumerist passion of human existence. Dvořák’s work is not merely a romantic fairy tale of impossible love, but a philosophical reflection on humanity and the world it seeks to dominate.
Krassimira Stoyanova will perform the title role in Dvořák’s Rusalka – the first-ever production of this work in Bulgaria, directed by Srebrina Sokolova. The production is conducted by Pavel Baleff, one of the most prominent Bulgarian conductors, renowned for his career in prestigious German opera houses.
Following Krassimira Stoyanova’s debut in the role in Zurich, the media remarked: “Everyone remains in the shadow of the magnificent soprano of Krassimira Stoyanova – a voice full of warmth and expressiveness, naturally gentle and light, intonationally flawless, with a freely flowing, touching vibrato. In 'Rusalka,' the Bulgarian singer is the ideal choice!”
