This class breaks down the most common terms and concepts you’ll encounter in kink communities, BDSM dynamics, and non-monogamous relationship structures. This class is focused on creating a fun and friendly environment designed for beginners.
We’ll explore everything from foundational kink and BDSM terminology to core power dynamics, negotiation basics, boundaries, consent frameworks, and relationship models such as polyamory, open relationships, and other non-monogamous structures. Expect clear explanations, plenty of examples, and an environment where you can comfortably ask the things you’ve always wondered about but never had a place to say out loud.

About the Instructor: Esme Yarnell L.C.S.W. is a trauma therapist with over a decade of experience working within kink-aware and non-monogamy-affirming communities. She specializes in supporting adults and adolescents through a trauma-informed, sex-positive lens. Esme integrates nature-based and animal-assisted interventions into her work, offering grounded, relational approaches to healing and growth. In her teaching, she brings clinical expertise, lived experience, and a compassionate, nonjudgmental style to exploring the basics of kink and ethical non-monogamy.
