"Seeds & Weeds" Acorn Collection

Youth Volunteers arrive (or move from milkweed collection to acorn collection) and learn to collect acorns. The oak tree seeds will be used by PCC to help replenish oaks in our NWI communities. So many trees were lost in this summer's storms and that habitat is lost to our wildlife, it must be replaced.

This is a great way for young people to earn community service hours for NHS, Scouts or other youth/academic programs.

We welcome any volunteers at any of our events and provide guidance, tools, and know-how.. Thank you to our youth sponsor Thrivent.
