Ancestral and Past Self Cacao CeremonyCoinciding with the fall equinox, this sacred practice blends Mesoamerican plant medicine traditions with seasonal reflection, symbolizing balance, gratitude for the harvest, and preparation for the months ahead.
- The Equinox Balance: Acknowledging the equal measure of light and dark to invite personal inner balance.
- Honoring the Ancestors and Past Self: Giving thanks to the lineage of the land, Indigenous custodians of cacao, and personal ancestors.
- Heart-Centered Intention: Consuming ceremonial cacao to open the heart and focus the mind during this seasonal shift.
- The Harvest Reflection: Journaling or meditating on personal achievements from the year and identifying what habits or energies to release.
The sacred consumption of pure, ceremonial-grade cacao to open the heart, heal emotions, and connect with the spirit.
- Indigenous peoples viewed cacao as the "food of the gods." It acts as a gentle plant medicine that increases blood flow and fosters emotional release through active compounds like theobromine (steady energy), anandamide (the "bliss molecule"), and phenylethylamine.
- What Happens: Participants gather in a circle to set intentions, mindfully drink the warm, bitter cacao beverage, engage in spiritual practices (guided shaman ic journey, meditation, breathwork, chanting, music and dance), and close with a gratitude sharing circle.
