The JSMA at PSU is delighted to welcome Portland-based color analyst Cristie Austin for an introduction to the color season analysis!
About this Event

Want to know your color season but don’t know where to start? Join Portland-based color analyst Cristie Austin for an introduction to the history and evolution of personal color analysis. Learn how modern color analysis goes beyond simply determining whether someone is warm or cool by evaluating undertone, chroma, value, and contrast. Cristie will also share a visual slideshow of real client case studies to demonstrate how different colors can affect the appearance of the skin, facial features, and overall harmony.

This event will be held inside the new Jordan Schnitzer School for Art + Art HIstory + Design on 1981 SW Broadway, Portland, OR 97201. JSMA at PSU staff will be on site to help direct you to the lecture space from the museum.

Cristie Austin is the founder and owner of Color Analysis PDX and the owner of Urban Roots Hair Studio in Portland. She has more than 31 years of experience in beauty, style, hair color, and personal color analysis. Her work combines a strong background in color theory, psychology, and hands-on beauty expertise to help clients understand the colors that create the most harmony with their natural features.

Cristie earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from the University of Oregon and studied color theory at the Academy of Art College in San Francisco. Most recently, she traveled to New York to complete advanced training and become internationally certified in Korean Color Analysis.

Today, she combines principles from Korean Color Analysis with an enhanced 16-palette system, evaluating undertone, chroma, value, and contrast to create a highly individualized approach to personal color.
