An Evening with Wayne Mason - The Chamber - The Piano Christchurch

An intimate evening of songs and stories from one of our finest songwriters. From his school band that led to the formation of the 60s pop band The Fourmyula (No.1 song Nature); to country rock stars Rockinghorse (Thru the Southern Moonlight); and country rock band The Warratahs. Co-founded by Wayne, his song Hands of My Heart was The Warratahs first top ten hit.
This solo show brings together songs from across Wayne's career right up to his newest work, woven together with stories he's collected along the way.
Wayne has a gift for evocative language that builds landscapes of the human experience - giving voice to emotions we can all relate to.
He is also one of Aotearoa’s best boogie honky-tonk piano players - raising the temperature with his high-energy driven style.
“I don't get to perform solo very often, so I'm genuinely excited to be bringing this show to The Piano in Christchurch. Playing music, and listening to music creates strong memories in people’s lives. You can date stamp things through your career from what’s happened to you as a musician. It forms the chapters of your life - which I can call upon and share with audiences - which is very special.” he says.
