Jenelle Pasiechnik will offer a tour of her exhibition Held. Together. featuring the work of Amanda McCavour, Glenna Cardinal, seth dodginghorse cardinal, Dwayne Martineau with contributions from Holly Anghel. The exhibition brings together artists whose practices engage differently with questions of relationship, place, and belonging. For enthusiasts of fine craft, the exhibition offers rich insights into contemporary embroidery, beadwork, textile assemblage and more.
Michele Hardy will offer an intimate tour of the Carpet and Textile collection focusing on textiles and place. We will briefly examine textiles that draw on locally available materials, that incorporate regional techniques or motifs, that create special spaces or represent particular places. Highlights will include Mackenzie Kelly-Frère's Shelter / In plain site, 2024, a spectacular 16th century Belgian tapestry as well as a Kyrgyz screen, woven from locally available wool and grass.
