About this Event
Join us for a powerful afternoon of storytelling, culture, and community as we screen American Pachuco: The Legend of Luis Valdez, presented as part of the Southern Circuit Tour of Independent Filmmakers.
American Pachuco traces the story of Luis Valdez, a pioneering voice in Chicano theater and film, and the vibrant culture of his era. This documentary offers a moving look at identity, art, and resilience within the Chicano community.
Following the screening, stay for a post-film dialogue with the filmmaker, an opportunity to go deeper into the story and the history behind it. Then join us for a community meal featuring Chicano foods, along with music and song to close out the evening in true celebration.
This event brings people together across cultures, honoring the traditions and stories that make our community stronger. All are welcome.
