BEFORE THE FILM
Connect with community members and our physician panelists while enjoying a Lebanese dinner catered by Shawkat Mediterranean Grill, along with Moroccan coffee and sweets from Notes of Marrakesh, made possible through the generous support of local donors Andrew Warren and Dr. & Mrs. Joseph J. Massad.
We will also have fresh local organic watermelon juice donated by community partner Inheritance Kitchen + Juicery.
PHYSICIAN PANEL
We are honored to feature three Oklahoma-based physicians who have personally served on medical missions in Gaza:
Dr. Abdul Basit Khan — Neurosurgery
Dr. Shagufta Yousaf — Pediatrics
Dr. Talal Ali Khan — Nephrology
Dr. Nida'a AbuJbara — Moderator
The physician panel will offer the Tulsa community an opportunity to hear directly from doctors who have provided care in Gaza and experienced firsthand the extraordinary challenges of practicing medicine in a setting where medications, equipment, hospital capacity, and basic infrastructure are severely constrained. They will also share information about how our local healthcare workers can get involved in medical missions themselves.
FILM SUMMARY
From Oscar®-nominated and Emmy® Award-winning filmmaker Poh Si Teng, American Doctor follows three American physicians—Palestinian, Jewish, and Zoroastrian—united by a single oath to save lives. After volunteering in besieged hospitals in Gaza, they return home determined to fight for the patients and colleagues they left behind, taking their battle from the front lines of war to the halls of Congress.

COMMUNITY FUNDRAISER
The event will also raise funds to support the Gaza Soup Kitchen Clinic, a grassroots medical clinic serving the northernmost point of care remaining in Gaza. The clinic provides essential medical care to patients with limited access to other healthcare, while local healthcare workers continue serving their community under extraordinarily difficult circumstances.
We are especially excited that Hani Almadhoun, co-founder of the Gaza Soup Kitchen, and members of the clinic team in Gaza will be part of our event through a special video message. Gaza Soup Kitchen gifts will also be available for donors.
