About this Event
This week's guest: Piper Martz on "Who's at the Table? Women and the Future of AI Leadership"
The loudest voices at the frontier of AI are mostly men, and plenty of women are shaping its future too. Piper will share what Table Stakes Media is building and look at the gender bias gap in AI, from who is building it to how the tools themselves behave. Then she'll invite the room to explore what good leadership looks like in the age of AI and how we make room for more people in the decisions that shape it.
Questions to think about before the session:
- What does good leadership look like in the age of AI?
- How do we invite more women and other underrepresented voices to the table to help make decisions and lead implementation?
- How do we build social and cultural systems of trust that support different types of people and leaders?
- How do we pave the way for those coming behind us, so they can scale, build, and have their voices included in how AI is designed and rolled out across organizations?
About Piper: Piper Martz founded Table Stakes Media, a media and events community bringing more women to the table to discuss AI and leadership. A Bryn Mawr College alumna, she has 10+ years of experience in marketing, most recently as Director of Community and Ecosystem Marketing at an agentic AI company. This fall, Table Stakes Media hosted its inaugural executive dinner for 30+ women leading AI change at their companies.
New York is a city of millions, yet most of us move through remarkably small social circles. American Dialogues offers a chance to step outside those bubbles, meet someone you wouldn't ordinarily run into, and see how differently people can interpret the same political topics and societal issues.
Each Tuesday we meet in the upstairs area of Qahwah House (2869 Broadway) for small-group conversations on one topic. We experiment with different conversation formats and topics throughout the fall. Free, and walk-ins are welcome. Come and try it out for yourself!
American Dialogues grew out of the Trust Collaboratory's Listening Tables at Columbia University.
