Come and join us for a longer nature walk through the beautiful Alver Valley in Gosport.We’ll be taking a leisurely but fairly substantial circular route through the valley, heading north and then east around Shoot Corner, continuing south towards Carter’s Copse, making our way west towards Sandhill, and then north back towards the car park.
The exact route may be adjusted on the day depending on ground conditions. If the grass paths are wet or muddy, we’ll stick closer to the all-weather paths where possible. Please come prepared for variable terrain and conditions!

• Meeting time: 12:30pm
• Walk starts: 1:00pm
• Expected duration: Approximately 3–4 hours (including stops)

Please double-check you are heading to the WEST car park, not the East!

🚗 Parking & Transport
• Parking charges: £1.80 per hour, up to a daily maximum of £10 for stays over 5 hours.
• Lift sharing: If you need a lift or have spare seats in your vehicle, please leave a comment in the discussion section.
☕ The Coffee Cup café at the car park closes at 5:30pm if you want to grab a hot drink before or after the walk.
🥪 Vegan Picnic / Packed Lunch
We’ll take a break during the walk (or potentially at the end, depending on route and conditions) to enjoy some food together.
Bring along your own vegan picnic or packed lunch, plus anything you’d like to drink - a hot flask might be a good idea!
What to bring:

🧥 Waterproof clothing (if rain is forecast)
🥾 Good walking shoes or boots for potentially muddy ground
📸 A camera or phone for scenery photos
🍻 Afterwards
We should be back at the car park somewhere between 4:00pm–5:00pm. For anyone who would like to continue the social afterwards, we can head somewhere for a drink. We’ll decide where to go on the day depending on numbers and what everyone fancies.
🌧️ Weather Contingency
If the weather is particularly poor, we will postpone the walk. The planned dates are:
• Sunday 11th October - Original date
• Saturday 17th October - First postponement date
• Saturday 24th October - Second postponement date
Please check back on this event page before setting off, as any postponement will be announced here.
If you know other vegans who might enjoy a good walk, some vegan food, and a bit of socialising, please invite them along.
