THE SELDOMS: ALL AT ONCEwith percussionist/composer Timothy Daisy

Chicago-based The Seldoms kick off their 25th Anniversary at Studio5 with the world premiere of All at Once, a new Cubist-inspired work created in collaboration with Chicago percussionist and composer Timothy Daisy.
Bringing together contemporary dance, live percussion and voluminous costume, choreographer Carrie Hanson and six virtuosic dancers explore the principles of Cubism through movement—fracturing, overlapping and reimagining the three-dimensional body to create an ever-shifting visual landscape.
In his third collaboration with The Seldoms, Daisy has created an original score for three percussionists, combining a structured framework with improvisation and chance. Marimba, drums, cymbals, gongs and an array of smaller percussion create a rich acoustic environment against the dancers’ driving, angular movement.
