As we move into the end of the year, we’re unearthing some classic sci-fi from the vaults for this 70th anniversary screening of Forbidden Planet at the Planetarium. This pioneering 1950s feature - loosely inspired by Shakespeare’s The Tempest - broke new ground and set numerous benchmark ‘firsts’ in science fiction cinema, and features a young Leslie Nielsen prior to his fame as a comic actor.
