The New Orleans Jazz Museum & NOLAxNOLA504 present Alesia Marie Garcia, a Louisiana native whose passion for music began at the age of two. Inspired by her Honduran father, who played guitar, sang, and shared family poems through music, she developed a lifelong love for singing.Though naturally shy, Alesia performed her first solo in seventh grade. During her senior year, she competed in an American Idol-inspired competition and later sang at her high school graduation. Since then, she has continued to share her voice through church worship services and community events across Louisiana.
Inspired by jazz, pop, inspirational music, hip-hop, and R&B in both English and Spanish, Alesia draws influence from artists such as Christina Aguilera, Mariah Carey, Celine Dion, Tori Kelly, Lilly Goodman, JoJo, and Tamia. She also holds a special appreciation for Selena’s music. Alesia believes music has the power to comfort, inspire, and celebrate life’s most meaningful moments, and she is honored to share that gift with every audience she serves.
