The Raby Family cordially invites you to celebrate a dedication in honor of beloved civil rights activist Albert Anderson Raby (Al Raby) in the neighborhood where he started his path towards organizing: Woodlawn.
Mayor Brandon Johnson and Alderwoman Jeanette Taylor will share commentary along with Chicago Historian, Shermann 'Dilla' Thomas. The remarkable Lesle Honore will grace us with her poetic artistry, members of the Raby Family will share their thoughts, and our Master of Ceremony, Jhmira Alexander, Al Raby Foundation board member and CEO of Public Narrative will round out this amazing list of presenters.
Note: The celebration will begin at the Grand Ballroom then guests will walk approximately one block north to the intersection of 63rd/Cottage Grove for the reveal of the Al Raby Lane Honorary Street Dedication with Alderwoman Taylor.
