This presentation provides an overview of a Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) system being developed for Lincoln Wastewater to make decades of operational and engineering information easier for staff to access and use. It will explain, in practical terms, how documents move from their original repositories through a data pipeline where they are processed, organized, vectorized, and made available for AI-assisted search. Particular attention will be given to the records and information management challenges that directly affect AI reliability, including data quality, metadata, version control, authoritative sources, security, and traceability. The session will highlight lessons from the project and show why effective information governance is a critical foundation for trustworthy AI.
