Walk the boundary line, and the land will tell you exactly what it needs. Governance isn’t just filing minutes or signing paperwork from a distance. It’s the physical sweat of walking the perimeter, securing the posts, and knowing every corner of the soil our tūpuna fought to keep.
When we let our fences fall, when we leave our blocks idle, and when we fail to prepare the next generation to step up, we break faith with the future.
On Saturday, 7 November, Te Materangatira Paora Whānau Trust is gathering at Rewatu Marae.
We aren’t just running through standard business. We are laying down Te Tira Taura Whiri—our associate trustee succession pathway to bring our uri into real, active governance. We are anchoring our Kaitiaki Kawa (code of care), and we are resolving the work needed to secure our boundary lines at Te Horapa (the mānuka plantation).
To every beneficial owner, descendant, and emerging kaitiaki: the whenua is calling you back into the room.
