About this Event

A Conversation on Stress, Neuroscience, and the Mind-Body Connection

Join a neuroscience expert or stress researcher for The Science of Stress: What Happens to Your Brain Under Pressure?, a fascinating exploration of how stress shapes the way we think, feel, and respond to the world around us. Why does pressure sometimes help us perform at our best, while other times it leaves us feeling overwhelmed? What happens inside our brains when we face uncertainty, deadlines, or challenging situations? Drawing on neuroscience and psychology, we’ll explore how the brain responds to stress, how prolonged pressure can affect our mental and physical well-being, and what we can do to manage stress more effectively.

What We'll Cover:
  • What happens in your brain when stress strikes – Explore how the brain detects threats, activates the body's stress response, and releases hormones that prepare us to react to challenging situations.
  • When pressure helps and when it hurts – Discover how stress can sharpen focus and improve performance in certain situations, while chronic stress can affect memory, decision-making, emotions, and overall well-being.
  • How to work with your brain, not against it – Learn how understanding the brain's stress response can help you develop healthier coping strategies, build resilience, and navigate pressure with greater awareness and control.

Whether you're curious about neuroscience, psychology, mental well-being, or simply want to understand why you react the way you do under pressure, you'll leave with a deeper understanding of your brain's response to stress and practical insights into handling life's challenges more effectively.
