The program concentrates on Afro-Cuban traditions, body movement, and musical structure — the foundations from which salsa evolved. This knowledge is not style-specific; it enriches every form of salsa dancing, whether Cuban, L.A., Mambo, or Caleña. By working closer to the source, dancers develop stronger timing, expression, and connection on the social floor. Ofcourse there will be also some Timba and Casino classes to compliment the program.
Rather than a large congress-style event, Afro-Cuban Berlin is intentionally designed as a smaller, more intimate gathering. With limited capacity, the focus stays on quality teaching, meaningful artist interaction, and space to truly dance. Because of this format, the festival is expected to sell out quickly.
This year, the event moves even closer to the city center, right at Alexanderplatz — within walking distance of many of Berlin’s main sights, hotels, and public transport, making it easy to combine the festival with time in the city.
