Join us in York for a unique relaxation experience with Sonic Spa. Pop a headset on, get comfy and enjoy brand new sound journey, African Dreams Experience. Never experienced a sound journey before? No problem! We create a live sound immersion, ‘bathing’ you in calming music and sound designed to bring you deep relaxation, using a variety of instruments while you lay or sit comfortably, wearing the headphones provided.
African Dreams sound journey is designed to lift heart, spirit and energy. We'll be playing a mixture of world instruments against a backdrop of African birdsong. Expect beautiful crystal bowls, gentle tongue drums, kalimba, rich bass tones and melody and Earthy, soothing vocals. Included will be words of peace, sang in Zulu, slowly leading in to a crescendo of rhythm and choir, drumming and percussion swathed in a rich layered chorus before bringing you back to soft tranquillity. Our journey will conclude with a grounding gong bath, African inspired poetry and complimentary tea and cake.
Certain instruments are able to induce theta brainwaves, gongs included. In this state our body is deeply relaxed, lowering blood pressure, calming stress and supportive of healing on a cellular level. During a Sonic Spa session you’ll receive the health benefits AND an enhanced experience, the privacy of a personal sonic cocoon created by radio headset, so you can fall deeper in to relaxation with less distraction.
Please bring something comfortable to lay or sit on (we suggest a camping or yoga mat but a duvet will do the job too) a blanket and pillow for extra comfort. Toilets and private parking are available at the venue.
Join us at St Chad's Church Hall ready to begin at 6:30pm. Tickets are £16 and can be booked using the link provided.
Please note, we 'll be using radio transmission which may affect older pacemaker models. Please check with your doctor first. Bringing peace and positivity is at the heart of our work. It is important to mention that during deep relaxed states, repressed memories can sometimes surface and anxiety can be triggered. Please be aware of this when choosing to attend.
