About this Event
Dive into the science behind how and why human connection happens.
We’ll explore:
- What happens in our brains and bodies when we feel connected?
- How are empathy, compassion, and belonging related?
- What helps people build meaningful connections with others?
Join us for the second event in the Advancing Connection Science Convening Series, an interactive, student-led experience where participants become co-designers of connection at UC San Diego.
Rather than simply listening to presentations, you'll collaborate across disciplines to share ideas, reflect on lived experiences, and explore the science behind human connection. Together, we'll explore psychological and physiological processes underlying human connection, including empathy, compassion, and belonging. Through interdisciplinary discussion, we’ll work toward a shared understanding of why connection happens and begin developing a conceptual framework linking lived experiences of connection to measurable research constructs.
Your voice will directly contribute to shaping future research, programs, and initiatives focused on connection at UC San Diego. No research experience required – just curiosity and a willingness to collaborate.
✨ Free lunch provided! ✨
We'll announce panelists and speakers soon.
By registering, you are acknowledging your awareness that campus communication will be on-site taking photos/videos.
This convening series is a collaboration between the Center for Empathy and Social Justice in Human Health and the Center for Mindfulness, supported by UC San Diego’s Office of Research & Innovation's Strategic Convene & Influence Award.
